Failing to comply with EU driver’s hours & tachograph rules – the penalties

Did you know you that your company could be fined thousands of pounds by VOSA for non-compliance of drivers’ hours & tachograph rules ?

In 2012 a haulage & coach company was fined a total of £50,000 for multiple non-compliance offences.

In addition, 10 of their drivers were fined several thousand pounds for drivers’ hours offences – including taking insufficient rest, exceeding the 4.5 driver’s hours rule, false records and failure to use a tachograph.

A further 6 drivers were disqualified from driving for between 10 & 56 days.
